MEET MRS. L

FALLS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT COUNSELOR
PREK-12

Thanks for visiting my website! School counseling is more than just a career for me. I believe in being kind, exploring life's opportunities and facilitating positive change. Being a Falls City High School alumni has given me the unique perspective of understanding small-town values. I am proud to be back in my hometown community serving and empowering students to reach their highest potential.

PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION

"I do, WE do, you do."

As a school counselor I want to express unconditional kindness towards my students, families and educational team. I will find a way to build strong relationships with the trust that I guarantee my students. If given the proper support and resources, students have the ability to grow, learn, solve problems and explore their own identity in some capacity. Academic growth occurs when students' social and emotional needs are met. This means that, as educators, it is our job to promote healthy relationships and a sense of school connectedness. We can understand students more holistically through an egalitarian approach that values the process of teaching, encouraging and learning together.

Find out who you are and be that person. That's what your soul was put here on this Earth to be. Find that truth, live that truth and everything else will come.

Ellen DeGeneres

“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.”

Brené Brown

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world."
